About Liveyards

Founded by a Houston mechanic shop owner, Liveyards came about as an idea that answered the question, "There has to be a better way for me to find and buy parts from salvage yards, right?"

After spending all day searching for a car part and seeing how antiquated the analog equipment at salvage yard counters seemed, he realized the time had come for a revolutionary approach to finding and buying used auto parts. The goal was to use technology to change the way salvage yards and auto repair shops did business together.

Running with an idea for a real-time, instant messaging style solution, he assembled a team of forward-thinking Houston businessmen and women to bring that vision to life. The team soon began looking for a software development firm to help create a truly new approach to locating used auto parts.

Working with web developers at KBizz, a leading Houston web solutions firm, the Liveyards management team designed an interface purpose-built for salvage yards. It uses real-time chat to establish a peer-to-peer network between salvage yards, while also allowing local body shops, mechanic shops, insurance adjusters, and individuals to make parts requests.

The most important theme throughout development was simple: make Liveyards easy to use.

Liveyards is an app-based program that uses communication technology, client/server and peer-to-peer connections, instant messaging, and image sharing without requiring users to download anything to a computer.

Houston is the launchpad. From there, Liveyards is built to expand into local communities across the United States.
